There is an ongoing public art project in El Barrio Park to commemorate the communities of the Barrios and to solidify El Barrio Park as a historical site.

In December 2025, the Claremont Public Art Committee selected Jose Antonio Aguirre to design the project, which will include a mural, 12 art pieces, and an updated park sign. Read more at this Claremont Courier article and at the artist’s statement here.
