About Us

This website was created as a multi-year collaboration between Claremont Heritage, Media Arts for Social Justice students from the Claremont Colleges with professor Gina Lamb, Al Villanueva and the Arbol Verde Preservation Commitee, Lydia and Johnny Henry and the Arbol Verde Association, and Eddie Gonzalez (Pitzer Media Studies).

Its aim is to bring the history of the relationship between Claremont and the East and West Barrios to a wider audience and to act as a living archive of the stories from the people whose families settled and lived there for generations.
